9 Helpful Finance Podcasts for Money and Investing

I work in asset management / consulting and here is what I listen to:

1. Invest Like the Best by Patrick O'Shaunghnessy - long form interviews with asset allocators, investors, entrepreneurs.

2. Odd Lots with Joe Weisenthal and Tracy Alloway. Market interest pieces with lots of interesting guests.

3. Capital Allocators with Ted Seides - mostly interviews with institutional investors.

4. The Meb Faber Show - I skip his investment writing and just listen to his interviews with top people in the field.

I'd also recommend subscribing to various daily email services. Here is what I get in my inbox daily:

I think Masters in Business by Barry Ritholz is very insightful. Many famous guests from the world of finance.

My friends are super into stock trading and similar things, and earning a decent passive income. They advise me to educate myself first before entering this realm. And I think podcasts are one of the most retentive materials nowadays.

Hello, I’m in the process of interviewing for a job at a smaller investment bank but I don’t have the finance background (it’s an exec assistant position) and I just want some recommendations for podcasts I can listen to that’ll give me some good all around knowledge so I don’t look like a complete idiot for my next meeting with them. Nothing redpilled, just finance education/discussion on financial news so I can walk in with some decent talking points.

The Budget Nerds on the YNAB channel, I also really enjoy Ramit Sethi’s “Money for Couples” podcast! Real couples come on and get support on their financial journeys - he’s pretty funny, and it’s refreshing to see transparent finance conversations and nice to have the reminder that everyone is on their own financial journeys trying to figure it all out!

For more markets and trading instead of investment I like MacroVoices.

I’m looking for a good podcast that will teach me about investing. I currently have a Roth IRA and would say I essentially know not very much about what to invest in. So looking for suggestions I drive a decent amount for work so podcast or audio books are on a lot. I’ve started listening to the motley fool on a friends suggestion. Also general finance type podcasts I would be interested in as well. Thanks for any help

New to YNAB and loving it. Unfortunately, historically, I hyper fixate on a new personal finance tool and fall off within a few months. Does anyone have any good personal finance podcasts that they listen to help keep them on task for the long-term?

I’m not so much interested in investing advice or economics (I ascribe to JL Collins’ index fund holding philosophy) - but instead looking for something more about tips, ideas, and stories around managing spending, savings, and financial life.

Marketplace Money is the most pure finance show and where I learned personal finance.

Slate Money probably fits what you’re looking for too

Marketplace is probably the best general business news program out there. Daily great reporting really makes it interesting.

I love listening to podcasts about buying businesses and private equity but outside of a few classes in accounting in finance in undergrad/grad school, my finance knowledge is seriously lacking.

I struggle to keep up sometimes when the hosts discuss things like carry or deal structure or add backs or sale leaseback or so forth.

Any recommendations?

Since this sub shares a desire to learn about and discuss money, what are your go to podcasts? How Money Works is one of my favorites and ive eaten all of their content. I listen to Graham Stephen though i dont always agree. Im past needing Dave Ramsey anymore. I drive alot and there is only so much music to listen to. Give me recommendations please. I love learning about finance and im decently sophisticated now so i dont need beginner stuff.

I'm looking for some personal finance podcasts. I've found Planet Money and plan to give that one a go. Any others? I've found the Ramsey network group of podcasts but I don't want to listen to a wealthy white guy be a jerk to people.

I have money to invest but I always feel better when I learn about the topic. Any podcasts to listen to? Preferably from people who are actually former financial advisors or used to work in finance?

Im past needing Dave Ramsey anymore

Me too, and I'll admit it can get stale... but... there's still entertainment value listening to total train wrecks call in and I still can appreciate the method for what it's worth. I have headphones on anywhere from 5-8 hours a day and sometimes it seems like a chore in and of itself finding out what to listen to. A daily multi-hour radio show (podcast) at least somewhat solves that for me.

Not necessarily investing, but Bloomberg Odd Lots has some good smart topical business guests.

The Money Guys, hands down. They're great.

Investopedia also has a podcast which is great.

What on earth is red-pilled finance?

Rational reminder is Canadian, but as an American I still find it great. I don’t adhere to their particular tilt strategies, but I think their advice and interviews are all genuine and not just trying to sell you product or a fake vision.

Money Guy Show is fine but yes repetitive. I find Your Money Your Wealth goes into a bit more depth and feels less repetitive than Money Guy. Bogleheads on Investing and the Rob Berger Show are both decent. Rational Reminder has good detail with Canadian hosts but talk a lot about US markets.

Morgan Housel a great shout for more widely thinking about the psychology of money and what is the right investing strategy and game to play for you personally.

Howard marks has a good podcast on his take on markets.
Prof G is kinda interesting but take with a grain of salt.

Would love some recommendations
