Saddest One Piece Moments from the Series
saddest one piece moments

The saddest One Piece moment is the Going Merry's farewell, followed closely by Ace's death and several tragic character backstories. Users often describe the ship's Viking funeral as the one scene that made them cry, even when they only reread the manga panel or think about it. Many users felt they were losing a crewmate because of the bond between the ship and the crew.
Going Merry's death affects users in a different way from most character deaths. Some users say it is the only One Piece moment that made them cry, while others say the farewell still brings tears each time they revisit it. The scene's sadness comes from the crew saying goodbye to a ship they treated as part of their group.
Ace's death is another major emotional peak, especially because of Luffy's reaction and breakdown. Corazon's sacrifice also stays with many users, since he helps Law escape and faces his final moments with a smile. Users often mention Corazon's death as a scene that makes them tear up even when they only remember it.
Brook's crew dying one by one while singing Binks' Sake creates another deeply sad moment. Nico Robin's past reaches its emotional peak at Enies Lobby, when she says she wants to live after years of persecution. Chopper's story also moves users through Doctor Hiluluk's death and Chopper's acceptance into the crew.
Kuma's backstory is another heartbreaking part of the story, especially the final message to Bonney. Taken together, these moments cover loss, sacrifice, loneliness, and the strong bonds between the characters. For many users, the Going Merry remains the saddest scene, with Ace's death and the character backstories close behind.

I’ve heard that many people talk about moments in One Piece that made them cry, but most of them are from before the two-year timeskip—like when Chopper sees Doctor Hiriluk’s cherry blossom tree, or when Robin finds the will to live again. But I’d like to know, are there any emotional moments in the New World arc that made you cry too?
For me, it’s definitely Corazon’s death. It makes me cry with ugly tears every time. When little Law is walking slowly away, crying, and Corazon is trying to keep his Devil Fruit power active just long enough so that Doflamingo and his gang won’t hear Law. Corazon dies with a smile on his face—the smile he so badly wanted to see on Law’s face. Man, I’m crying now...

When they said goodbye to Going Merry... 😭
Chopper: Please live, doctor
If you ask OP fans, 8/10 of them cried over a ship.
So far what tugged on the heart strings most for me was Usopp challenging Luffy to a duel over captainship of the Merry so he’d have the final say about Merry’s future.. The whole crew just watching.. Zoro and Sanji explaining to the crew and knowing what was at stake..
But from those ashes.. arose..
Robin’s “I want to live!” At Enies Lobby is a close second, “Tell me you want to live”! 😎🏴☠️
Bon Clay’s sacrifice. That guy was a real bro

…Solo.
Corazon saying I love you to Law and the moments after. Cora was such a good character even if we only knew him for a short time. I loved law before that flashback but that scene made me love law even more
Brooks crew playing as they die one by one, until he is playing solo.
