9 Hardest Achievements in Assassin's Creed Games

The hardest achievements in Assassin's Creed are usually the old multiplayer achievements, tedious collectibles, and buggy or random tasks. Older multiplayer achievements can be impossible to complete because servers shut down. Black Flag's multiplayer is especially disliked because it requires a long climb to level 55.

Employee of the Month in the original Assassin's Creed Brotherhood gets one of the strongest complaints from users. The achievement required careful coordination with other players, and older games made that coordination harder. Some multiplayer achievements were difficult when their servers worked, but server shutdowns now make many of them impossible instead of merely hard.

Collection tasks create a different kind of problem. Assassin's Creed has 100 flags with little in-game tracking, while Assassin's Creed II has 100 feathers that many users consider nearly impossible to find without an online guide. Assassin's Creed Unity also frustrates players because it has so many collectibles to clear for full completion.

Some achievements depend on bugs, random events, or strict performance. Assassin's Creed III's The Encyclopedia of the Common Man requires you to watch homestead residents perform many specific tasks, but those tasks aren't guaranteed to happen. Assassin's Creed Revelations' Impress Warren Vidic achievement asks you to finish an Animus testing sequence without failing, and users describe it as difficult and sometimes buggy.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Mastery Challenges also rank among the hardest because their requirements can be demanding and bugs can make them more frustrating. The source gives no single strategy for these achievements, but it does point to the main risks: dead servers, missing tracking, random events, bugs, and long multiplayer grinds.

Hardest picks

  1. Employee of the Month Brotherhood's multiplayer coordination requirement makes this one of the most feared achievements.
  2. Black Flag multiplayer Reaching level 55 creates a long multiplayer grind that many users found unbearable.
  3. Assassin's Creed multiplayer achievements Server shutdowns make many older multiplayer achievements impossible to complete.
  4. Assassin's Creed flags The first game has 100 flags and little in-game tracking to guide the search.
  5. Assassin's Creed II feathers Finding all 100 feathers is extremely difficult without an online guide.
  6. Assassin's Creed Unity collectibles Unity's huge collectible count can make full completion feel like a chore.
  7. The Encyclopedia of the Common Man Assassin's Creed III requires random homestead tasks that may take hours to appear.
  8. Impress Warren Vidic This Revelations DLC achievement requires a perfect Animus testing sequence and can be buggy.
  9. Valhalla Mastery Challenges Demanding requirements and bugs make some challenges especially frustrating.

Multiplayer Achievements

Impossible to obtain. Many older Assassin's Creed titles with multiplayer achievements are now impossible to 100% due to server shutdowns. "I don’t know if it’s very fair to count those as hard though. They’re just straight up impossible."
Coordination challenges. Even when servers were active, these achievements required significant coordination with other players, which was difficult without modern communication tools. "Employee of the Month in original AC brotherhood, that was the hardest trophy in all the games by far."
Black Flag's demands. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is frequently cited for its challenging and time-consuming multiplayer achievements, including reaching level 55. "I tried too but Black Flag multiplayer deleted my will to live"

Tedious Collection Achievements

AC1 Flags. Collecting all flags in the first Assassin's Creed is noted for its tediousness due to the sheer number and lack of in-game tracking. "Altaïr's bloody flags. Syrian CTF is just another level of intense, apparently."
AC2 Feathers. The 100 feathers in Assassin's Creed II are considered borderline impossible without a guide, highlighting the difficulty of finding hidden collectibles. "Without an online guide it would be the feathers from AC2, that would be borderline impossible."
Unity's numerous collectibles. Assassin's Creed Unity is mentioned for its overwhelming number of collectibles, making 100% completion a chore. "Most annoying is probably Unity just because there are soooooooo many collectibles."

Buggy and RNG-Dependent Achievements

AC3's "The Encyclopedia of the Common Man". This achievement requires observing homestead residents performing specific, random tasks, which can be buggy and take hours to complete. "You have to observe the people of your homestead doing like 50 different task, these aren't guaranteed and are random occurrences that happen."
Revelations' "Impress Warren Vidic". This achievement from Revelations's The Lost Archive DLC demands completing an Animus testing sequence without failing, which many found extremely difficult and often buggy. "I've heard a lot about how hard "Impress Warren Vidic" is... But, I accidentally unlocked that fucker first try (pure luck more than anything)."
Valhalla's Mastery Challenges. Users describe these challenges as difficult and frustrating due to bugs and demanding requirements, with some specific challenges causing "PTSD." "Valhalla and the hardest achievement or trophy for me was by far the"

Are you interested in strategies for tackling any of these difficult achievements?

Bottom line

Users consistently identify multiplayer and tedious collection-based achievements as the hardest in the Assassin's Creed series.

I finally did it. All achievements for every Assassin's Creed game on Steam that have them (fuck 4's multiplayer achievements, fuck Revelations' buggy achievements, fuck Valhalla's mastery challenges btw)

well I think there are AC titles you can't 100% cause they need online mode and it's not supported anymore

I am currently in the middle of ac1 and wanted to know what the hardest game to 100% is, I also want to know what the hardest achievement is.

Currently, the hardest one to finish is the first one, and the hardest achievements are all the flags and the templars.

Edit: To answer some of the questions. Yes, I am talking about all the achievements and all the games dlc's.

One of my favorite series of all time. Did all the achievements back on Xbox, wanted to do it all again on PC. Onto the RPG ones!

I just got my lowest percentage of gamers unlocked so far! Post a pick of your rarest achievement! I'm so curious what they are!

Hardest game to 100% honestly is probably ACIII. Most annoying is probably Unity just because there are soooooooo many collectibles. Valhalla mastery challenges are probably the hardest single achievement

I don’t know if it’s very fair to count those as hard though. They’re just straight up impossible. But yes Brotherhood, Revelations, and 3 all had the multiplayer servers shut down so you can’t do anything related to that

Without an online guide it would be the feathers from AC2, that would be borderline impossible.

So in a quest to 100% all games and get all achievements, last night I got the Impress Warren Vidic achievement from Revelations' The Lost Archive DLC. The achievement requires you to complete the Animus testing sequence without failing.

During my 40th or so attempt at getting the achievement, I thought that this has to be the toughest achievement I've ever tried to get.

Which brings met to my question. are there tougher achievements that lie ahead in the AC games? What's the hardest one and why?

Yeah I know there are the three Chronicles games and I do own them, but I really don't like them enough to go for all achievements.

The Encyclopedia of the Common Man from Assassin's creed 3, this takes so long to do and it can bug out and it's just very annoying to do. You have to observe the people of your homestead doing like 50 different task, these aren't guaranteed and are random occurrences that happen. And sometimes the game refuses to scan the task causing you to miss it.

Valhalla and the hardest achievement or trophy for me was by far the one for getting gold on every master challenge. A couple in the forgotten saga dlc are a pain as well

Which was more painful to complete: Odyssey’s Hermes Homie or Origins Old Habits?

For me, it was Hermes Homie because I was trying to find the one area I missed and the game did not make it easy to identify or keep track of what has been discovered.

Well, until tomorrow.. haha good job tho

Old Habits took forever to complete, but I genuinely enjoyed the feeling of accomplishment I felt afterward.

For me, the worst trophies have some degree of randomness. I just replayed Origins to finish a few trophies and the Overheating trophy took me almost an hour of aimlessly wandering the desert. Very dull.

More recently, the Good Catch (fishing) trophy in Valhalla was unbelievably tedious. I’m not a fan of fishing activities in games and this one probably tacked on 5 or 6 extra hours to my playthrough.

Revelations didn’t fit in the pic so here’s that too.

Why are your total play times so low if you don’t mind me asking. Just looks a bit weird, like Valhalla

Whatever the fishing one was in Valhalla, no way I’m doing that

Altaïr's bloody flags. Syrian CTF is just another level of intense, apparently.

I finished the game recently and, when I checked my achievements, I noticed quite a few that only 2% and 1% of the Steam community have unlocked. And looking at what these achievements are, I don’t think they’re particularly difficult, which makes me wonder: do a lot of people own the game but haven’t actually played it? Because, as I said, these achievements aren’t hard to unlock.

Employee of the Month in original AC brotherhood, that was the hardest trophy in all the games by far. It was so damn hard trying to coordinate like 4 random players on half-dead multiplayer servers without any discord voice chat, cause it wasn’t popular back then.

Luckily the ps3 doesn't have to worry, but AC1 flag collectibles are easily the worst in the series.

I've heard a lot about how hard "Impress Warren Vidic" is... But, I accidentally unlocked that fucker first try (pure luck more than anything).

So... My choice would be one of the many many many bugged achievements this franchise has. Those are probably the hardest to unlock haha.

I tried too but Black Flag multiplayer deleted my will to live

. This achievement from Revelations's The Lost Archive DLC demands completing an Animus testing sequence without failing, which many found extremely difficult and often buggy.
