Best Plus Size Jeans That Users Recommend for Fit and Value
good jeans for plus sizes

Old Navy and Torrid are the two most popular picks for plus size jeans, and users praise both for fit, comfort, and value. Old Navy sells high waisted and barrel leg styles at low prices. One user loves her Old Navy High Waisted Classic Straight jeans. Torrid earns strong reviews for its Bombshell jeans, which many users say eliminate the waist gap.
Price strategy matters with Torrid. Its jeans go on sale often, but one user says you need to watch the deals almost daily to catch them. Universal Standard also makes quality jeans, though they cost more. A user recommends buying them on sale for that reason.
Fit advice from users centers on fabric and cut. Many prefer thick, true denim over stretchy fabric, especially with an apron belly, because it drapes over the belly instead of holding tight to it. Madewell barrel jeans won over one user who feared the shape would not flatter her, and the lack of stretch keeps them from emphasizing an apron belly. For a larger hip to waist ratio, curvy fit jeans like Abercrombie's Curve Love line prevent gapping at the back.
Cheaper picks hold up well too. One user wore Ava & Viv jeans from Target every single day for about four years before the thighs gave out. Tall shoppers get good options at Maurices, which sells three lengths in a large share of its plus size jeans. One user, 5'10 and size 16/18 with a 33 inch inseam, buys there, and her 6'3 sister at size 22 with a 37 inch inseam does too.
City Chic comes up often for quality and fit, with the Asha jeans called out by name. Witchery also surprised one user, who found size 18 options there that were neither stretch nor slim cut. If you have a specific body shape or inseam length, start with the brand that matches it best.

Question for the Big girls!!!! I just have two jeans in my wardrobe from Madewell and Abercrombie (got them from US last year) Wanted to know if you all have some recommendations for plus size jeans. TIA!!!
I have been on the search for comfy jeans that make me feel comfortable and confident and all that fun stuff. I typically wear a size 14 and everything i’ve tried on lately fits in the waste but not the hips and vice versa ir hugs my inner thigh uncomfortably. Going into fall i’m on the hunt that isn’t going to take me broke! Thanks !
I have the barrel leg ULLA jeans in a dark Japanese denim. No lycra but soft and wear well. Locally made in Vancouver!
Drop your favorite brand names and the style you like (I prefer high-rise).
I'm looking for something breathable, soft and good quality, and don't mind spending a few extra bucks for a pair that will last me in the long term. Thanks!
Looking for a brand with a good fitting pair of jeans under $30... I've been wearing Judy Blue jeans for a few years but it's kinda out of on the pricey side.
5’2 with an apron belly (in the US). I don’t need high end, just something to make me feel more put together than sweats. Size 18/20.
i like old navy rockstar super skinny when they go on sale for like $20-25
If your budget allows, Decade Studio.
I like Old Navy jeans and Torrid Bombshell jeans..
Hi all,
I’m after some jeans in approx size 16 in proper denim (with a little bit of stretch). I’ve tried Taking Shape and found them to be closer to leggings than denim jeans.
Please share your favourites!! (Bonus if they are slim leg - skinny/slim leg jeans will have to be pried from my millenial hands!!)
Thank you 😊😊
UPDATE - I ended up with some jeans from Commonry! Thank you all for your suggestions!!
I struggle so hard to find jeans that are affordable and actually fit. If they fit everywhere else, they’re too short. If they’re perfect length, they don’t actually fit. If they’re both, they rip within a month or two. Most brands that do have taller jeans, don’t go up to my size. Then the ones that do go up to my size, don’t have tall jeans. It’s never ending 😭
I don’t have much money to spend, but I really want to get myself some new clothes for the new year and it’s been disheartening looking around because everything I find is expensive. 😔
Any recommendations?
I looked in the wiki!
Best jeans I’ve ever worn are the Levi’s plus size “725 High-Waist Classic Stretch Bootcut Jeans.”
I have them in two different colors & I wear them every single day, they’re super comfy after a day or two of wear. I also have a pair of the 725 skinny jean version & those are great too, but boot cut looks great with most outfits imo.
(Hi! If there are other communities better suited for this question, let me know. Thanks!)
I (23F) have always associated Levi’s jeans with being thicker, heavier, and overall higher quality (more structured denim, usually closer to 100% cotton). However, it looks like Levi’s website in my country doesn’t carry my size, which is… honestly kind of wild considering that over 75% of people here are overweight or obese, myself included.
For reference, I have a 40-inch waist and 50-inch hips. I’m totally fine with getting jeans that fit my hips and then tailoring/pinching the waist to make them more shaped to my body. I’m also short (5 ft) and I like chunkier shoes, so I don’t mind having to hem them or even cut the length myself.
The problem is that I’m having a really hard time finding jeans that aren’t thin and stretchy. A lot of them feel like they’ll rub down and break quickly with use, or they simply don’t fit my hips and belly properly to begin with.
I’ve been looking at the official Levi’s website and their plus-size options, but I’m not sure if they ship to my country. Even if they do, I’ve noticed something that tends to happen with a lot of plus-size jeans: proportionally, the ankle width is often much narrower (or actually skinny), which makes my hips look even wider in comparison. This seems to be the case for most Levi’s plus-size full-length options too, even some of the bootcut styles.
I don’t think that look is bad, but on me it ends up feeling extra casual, and I’m looking for something a bit more structured and put-together. I don’t necessarily want to look masculine, but I do prefer more gender-neutral clothing, which is already hard to find as a curvier person. In general, I prefer a straighter or wider leg (wider at the ankles so it looks straighter compared to the hips), ideally in a dark blue or dark black wash.
So I wanted to ask, does anyone have recommendations for brands (that ship to Mexico) that carry truly plus-size jeans that are thicker, stiffer, and preferably high-cotton (minimal stretch), with a straighter or wider leg?
I'm in love with the Madewell barrel jeans. I was worried that the shape wouldn't be "flattering," but they're great. The lack of stretch means they don't accentuate my apron belly, and they come in a nice range of washes. The price tag is on the higher side, but I've actually found some on Poshmark for reasonable prices.
Depends on your body type, but I’ve found jeans that are specifically labeled “curvy” to be so much more comfortable. Fit in the ass and thigh but without huge gap at the waist. So many other brands are cut straight and require tailoring at the waist. Shockingly my fav recently is from Abercrombie.
I’ve been getting jeans from The Zesty Lemon. They have a location in New West and at Lougheed mall. They carry a brand called Judy Blues and they’re amazing
Torrid and old navy for size and length inclusion. Lane Bryant is okay but their denim sells out stupid fast, especially in special length
Hey, that sounds like me! I'm currently wearing a pair of Old Navy High Waisted classic straight jeans and I love them.
Shein actually has some good denim. First pair I bought from them I was surprised they were comfortable and fit so well and that the pants had nice big pockets. Like the nice big pockets of your dreams. It made me appreciate them after the shitty small pockets they put in women's pants
Maurices 1000000% percent. This store is slept on. I’m 5’10 size 16/18 with a 33 inch inseam, my sis is 6’3 size 22 with a 37 inch inseam. They offer 3 lengths in a ton of their plus size jeans, plus they have some boutique plus size jeans brands as well. Their tops are long enough and the sleeves are long enough too, which is always a concern for me. Some of their stuff is a little goofy/dated, but I get alllll my basics from there. Good quality and they run frequent sales.
The nicest jeans I've bought in ages were from Witchery. I bought them like 18mo ago and they're not stretch or slim cut 🤣 so this isn't a specific style rec, just that based on the vibe I didn't think they would do a size 18 and then had lots of options so could be worth a look for you
Torrid jeans are excellent and they frequently go on sale but it would require that you monitor deals daily-ish.
I am 5'8 and i have become so fat so I need some jeans my budget is 1k any recommendations girlies?? I tried savana but I don't like anything. Myntra gave me good results but I don't really know. my size is 44 ...46 would also be ok
Universal Standard! Definitely on sale though because they are pricier.
- Thicker, less stretchy denim is preferred by some for better structure and durability, especially for those with an
