I’m getting married in June and trying out different lip products. I honestly never really wear anything on my lips, I’m pretty minimal overall. So I was veering towards using a lip stain. I’ve tried the Benetint and actually really like it, but it doesn’t seem to last all day. Is this normal for lip tints? Or are there ones that tend to last longer? OR should I really venture into other lip products for longer coverage?

I honestly believe that it’s an unrealistic expectation to believe a lip product will last all day. If you want a stain to last all day you’d really need to be mindful of how often you lick your lips/eat/drink.

Absolutely this! I’ve tried Western and Asian ones, drugstore to high-end, and nothing holds a candle to the lasting power of K-beauty lip stains. Peripera and Etude House water lip stains last longest on me. The ones that are less moisturizing tend to leave stains that last through eating and drinking, and I just top them off with a lip oil or gloss for moisture. They’re also way more affordable than Western brands.

These all suck especially the benetint one get the clairins lip stain or any Korean cheap water stain lasts WAY better

Not drugstore, but Fenty Beauty Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain is 🔥. I usually put a thick coat on, wipe it off after 5 mins, then put a regular coat on top of that. I lick my lips a lot, but the stain stays all day! (My favourite shade is Mai Type)

I actually hate wearing lipsticks or lipglosses because they’re just too sticky for me and I end up licking/wiping them off out of frustration. But I like the look of having my lips colored as I feel it brings a makeup look together. I figured lip stains would be a perfect option for me. HOWEVER, all the drug store ones I’ve tried so far (ELF, Ulta, Nyx(?), Colorpop, etc) just seem to not work for me. They all tend to fade within an hour or so and I’m often too busy to or just simply forget to reapply. I’d like to be able to add a lip stain to my makeup routine, so I’m turning to the makeup girlies on Users to see if you guys had any recommendations for long lasting lip stains. Thank you so much!

What is everyone’s favorite lip stain? I only have the Elf one in Cherry Cola but find it doesn’t last well at all. The Cover Girl stains seem to have a strange color selection. I’ve heard decent stuff about NYX. Milani has so few shades. What are everyone’s favorite brand/shade?

NYX Lip Lingerie. I tried it on at night, had a shower, slept and the stain was still there in the morning!

I would really like a lip stain that stays for at least the day? I understand fading but I would like it to still be visible by like hour 3. All the ones I have now are so pretty but soooo weak. Any recommendations?

I've found that the only shades that actually stain are the red-based colors. None of the browns I've used leave much pigment behind after a few hours. That said, if you don't mind a red/pink/purple stain, the Fenty ones are incredible. It lasted through a dental cleaning for me. 😆

I like the ColourPop stains a lot, too, but the brown/neutral shades aren't long-lasting. My brighter, red-based colors do hang around. I think it's just the nature of the pigments used.

A lot of people swear by the Rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tint, which has more variety. But I haven't used them and can't personally vouch for them.

Nyx lip IV works great for me. My go to daily shade is hydra-honey. It's all about technique with Nyx, you gotta let it sit for at least 10 mins.

How I use it is after I applied my skin tint, I clean my lips and then apply the stain and leave it on until I finish my full makeup routine. That leaves it on a good 20 mins+. At the end I wipe off the gloss and then go in with my fave lip liner (anastasia beverly hills muted mauve) and top it off with a gloss or lip oil. I've never had to touch up the stain or lip liner at all, just the gloss a couple times throughought the day. I think the gloss helps keep the stain from wearing down so easily. If you're wearing just the stain it'll fade throughout the day from eating/drinking.

I really want a lip stain with a color close to Mac Syrup aka Revlon's On the Mauve. I really want it to stain well. I've tried Rommand's Bare Grape and that didn't look right on me, I've tried NYX Bubblegum burst and that didn't look right on me. I've had to cool down a lot of colors on me. I am very cool and pink/purple based for skin tones. I am a soft summer.

I love the feel of the NYX lip stain product but none of the shades work for me. Mac Mehr is only so so on me. I've also tried Etude's Cool Pink on Top and that didn't look good on me either. The palette from Flower knows bunny garden cool lavender grey looks great on me. Also Milani's lily eyeshadow stick in lily is a great crease shade for my eyes if that helps.

I am looking for a mlbb that hydrates and really lasts. I'm 52. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sacheu Peel-Off Lip Stay-n is honestly amazing. I have to remember to put it on early in my routine so it has time to dry but it lasts 6-8 hours for me. Definitely fades as the day goes on but doesn’t transfer and still leaves a nice wash of color.

My two favorites are Gucci Oil in Water Lip Stain and Milani Color Fetish Lip Stain. Both were a one and done stain for me that held up through eating and drinking for about 6-8 hours.

Hi! I’m looking for some good lip stain recommendations. Something with great staying power that can withstand some smooching. I’ve tried the Kulfi and like those but just want to see if there’s any other options out there.

hey all! i really want to add some pigment to my double lip line to make my top lip appear fuller and i've decided that a lip stain is probably the best way to do that since i also want to have my top lip look fuller when i'm barefaced.

i'm looking for a lip stain that is durable to last all day since i don't want it to disappear and have to keep re-applying whenever i eat/drink/apply lip balm.

i know that lip blushing is an option too, but i don't have any places that specialise in lip blushing nearby and i also don't know how much it costs or how long it lasts so i figured that a lip stain is the more affordable option right now. anyways, hope i can get some good recommendations and if there are any suggestions other than a lip stain, i'd be happy to hear those too! thanks so much.

Don't do lip blushing you will regret it 

I have discovered the Violette stain and it lasts hours and hours on me. I apply it and then do the rest of my makeup, and let it sit for a while. Then I wipe it off and use it as a base for the rest of the day. I can apply chapstick over it for a natural look, or even a lipstick over it if I want extra coverage. It just gives a nice color to my lips as a base.
