CMA Inter Suggested Answers and Writing Tips
cma inter suggested answers

To write good CMA Inter suggested answers, you need a structured approach that focuses on key concepts and clear presentation. You should answer the questions you know best first to secure marks quickly and manage your time well. You must also show your working notes for numerical problems to earn partial credit.
You should focus on understanding the underlying concepts instead of trying to memorize everything. Users say you need to be conceptually strong. This helps you handle different types of questions on the exam.
For descriptive answers, you should use bullet points to make your answers easier for examiners to read. You should write clearly and leave proper spacing between points and paragraphs. You should also start each part of a question on a new page and write the question number clearly and big.
You should use the official ICMAI study materials and past papers. Users suggest you solve the module and workbook sums first. After you finish the module, you should try past papers to test yourself.
You can watch paper analysis videos to learn about high weightage topics and common question patterns. One user suggests a paper analysis video from CMA Junction posted four weeks ago. You should also make last day revision notes with short notes, diagrams, and equations for quick review.

Hey guys, I’m gonna be writing CMA Inter Dec 2025 and I’m mostly self-studying. Honestly feeling kinda lost on how to handle each subject.
Can anyone share some subject-wise guidance like:
Best way to tackle theory vs practical papers
Which books/classes/resources actually help for self-study
How you planned your prep + revisions
Any exam-day hacks or writing tips
If you’ve already cleared or are currently preparing, your advice would mean a lot.
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone, I’m giving CMA Inter for the first time this upcoming attempt and I wanted some guidance from people who’ve already written it. What are the actual essentials I should carry to the exam hall, like the exact ID proof, stationery, calculator, and whether the A4 admit card we download from the institute website is the same one we’re supposed to take? Also, any do’s and don’ts inside the hall would be super helpful. For the descriptive papers, how did you structure your answers, how much explanation is expected, and what time-management strategy worked for you? I’d also love to know any common mistakes first-timers make and anything you wish you knew before writing your first CMA Inter.
I know the instructions are already given.. I want to know the practical tips apart from those, from seniors or candidates who've already given their attempt.. that might help me and other newbies :-).
Hello so a quick introduction, i passed grp 1 on dec 24 with 285 marks and grp 2 on june 25 with 291 marks.
My suggestion:- Self study is the best except for tax ( i could not get exemption in it).
Teacher suggestion- Law - Arjun chabra sir revision playlist ( score - 79) FA - Santosh kumar sir marathon ( score -77) Cost accounting- ranjan periwal sir marathon( score - 72) Tax- i would suggest take classes , i referred vijay sarda sir FastTrack free youtube Playlist and vivek gaba sir marathon ( score - 57)
Omsm- om from cma junction and sm from videos of mayank saraf (score- 76) Fm- Ranjan periwal sir playlist( score - 72) CAA- bishnu kedia sir marathons( score - 82) MA - Ranjan sir marathons( score -61)
I would highly suggest solve module & workbook sums. After solving module go for past paper , test yourself if you can do it.
Be conceptually strong ,dont try to mug up sums.
For law and audit remember keywords, underline them in exams.
Do your best, you will get through it.
I can't really afford those coaching centers with high fees and i do have a lot of time but the only drawback is that I won't have access to mock tests
CMA Intermediate student here. Need honest advice.
Exam is very close and I've barely studied. I wasted a lot of time and I'm seriously underprepared. I have around 2 days left, including a 5-hour bus journey where I can revise.
For people who have passed CMA Inter:
- If you were in my position, what would you focus on?
- Which subjects/topics give the highest marks for the least time invested?
- Is focusing heavily on MCQs a good strategy now?
- What topics are absolute must-do's in the final 2 days?
- Realistically, what score range could someone like me expect?
Looking for practical advice, not motivation. Please be direct.
Hello everyone, I'm new to Users, also to CMA. I finished my BCom this June and am set to join a company from August. I have always wanted to pursue any professional course and was contemplating CA or CMA and eventually chose CMA. I couldn't pursue the course during my graduation years due to financial constraints. Now I somehow got everything in order and gathered courage to register for CMA inter. I have opted for oral teaching since selecting postal needed to post photos of mock tests given . I have doubts and will be grateful if you guys can help clear them. Since I will be working can I juggle both work and CMA? In Oral classes, I have selected online mode but will it be mandatory for me to attend classes? Also I have never attempted for any course's exams, so I thought of appearing for Dec group one attempt but i just couldn't bring myself to read; seeing the books I would get sleepy (I had just finished my bcom exams and was lazy to read again). Some things happened in my home so I thought of giving exams in June 2027. I have decided to only give one group at a time. Will I be wasting my time if I don't give exams this December or only give one group per attempt. Please guide me on how you guys studied, the process of oral coaching for online mode and tips to clear my exams while going for a job. I have mustered up all my courage to register for this exams and post here. Please guide me as I want a successful career and a better future for myself.
This is for Financial Accounting. It is the pattern that you have to focus on preparing for it. You have to answer 5 questions. And out of five you have to get 3 answers right (provided you answer atleast 12 MCQs correctly). 12×2=24 and 3×11(keeping it low)=33. It totals to 57 and if you answer here and there you could possibly get to exemption. Choose the set you want to prepare for and my set is except partnership accounting i covered everything. So if that helps, you can follow the same. But dont spare the mcqs as they are the saviour. And you have to be thorough with AS too as they carry around 18-19 marks ( 7a, 7b and 8a/8b). Always try working out sums from past question papers and mock test papers. You will clear it. All the best (I'm appearing for group 1 this December 🥲)
Anyone who has passed the intermediate CMA exam. Can you offer me some advice or strategies so that I can pass my group 1 paper (June attempt) on my first try? I would be very grateful for any recommendations.
Someone remind me to come back here
urgent help📍📍📍(cma inter)
I completed all 12 weeks assignment a month ago . I was waiting for my certificate only. but then I received this mail.
i was told that we just need to complete that 12 week assignment, then what is this? is this exam compulsory?? can we leave this exam??? and when will I receive my certificate as I have completed my 12assignments???
pls help me... tomorrow is the last day to register 😭😭😭😭
Student guidelines suggest writing answers in bullet points.
I wrote most of my answers using bullet points, except for questions that demands paragraph style or for case law.
The rule of thumb is, If you can express the answer clearly in bullet points, then do so.
Hi everyone, I need some honest advice.
I'm preparing for CMA Inter, and lately I've been feeling very low and confused about my prep.
I started preparing seriously about a year ago. For the first two months, everything was going well , I used to study around 8–10 hours a day. But gradually I started procrastinating and delaying my studies. For almost the next month, I was studying only around 2 hours a day.
Around that time, I also joined a library. Instead of studying, I started spending more time hanging out with frds there. As the exam got closer, some people advised me to skip the December attempt and appear in June instead. I followed that advice, but unfortunately I still didn't study seriously, and I regret that decision a lot.
Whenever I tried to rebuild my routine, something kept interrupting it.. my B.Com exams, my cousin's wedding, and other things. Eventually, I appeared for the June attempt. Honestly, after every exam, I came home feeling like crying because I knew how much time I had wasted. The regret wasn't about the difficulty of the papers , it was about wasting so many months.
After the exams, I started studying again. As of today (20 July), I've covered the basics of Financial Accounting and completed Customs and ITC in Indirect Tax. My Cost Accounting and Law are already in a good position from my previous preparation, but Financial Accounting and Tax are still left.
My question is: how should I plan my preparation from here? Do you think it's realistic to attempt both groups in the December exam, or should I focus on just one group?
I would really appreciate honest advice from people who have gone through CMA Inter. Thank you.
Hello everyone!
I recently cleared CMA foundation and am preparing for CMA Inter G1(Dec'26). Since I can't afford classes for every subject,i can only purchase 2-3 classes (max-4). I need some guidance on where to invest my money and where free YouTube resources are enough?
This is what I'm currently planning:
Law:- Arjun Chhabra sir
FA:- Santosh Kumar sir
Cost accounting:- Ranjan periwal sir.
I'm still confused about DT and IDT.
Could you please suggest:-
The best free YouTube playlists for DT and IDT (Complete and exam oriented)
Whether I should buy for classes for DT and IDT(and from where?🥲) instead of any of the subjects i mentioned.
Which subjects are manageable from YouTube alone and which subjects are worth purchasing?
I'm a good student and ready to study consistently but I want to avoid wasting my time on incomplete and outdated resources (I'm pursuing bcom too and have end sem exams in December overlapping with Cma inter)
Please share study strategies and revision tips for balancing CMA inter with college exams🤧.
I'd really appreciate advice from those who cleared CMA inter recently or are currently preparing 🥲🙏🏻.
Thank you in advance!! 🙏🏻
If you are not known to the centre don't mess with any teacher or invigilator there. Be calm Make friends there. Go for MCQ first and please fill the OMR SHEET PROPERLY. NAME ROLL NO MOST IMPORTANT THE MCQ MARKING USE A GOOD PEN
Attempt each part of each questions on new page , write question number clearly and big . Attempt thr question you know very best firstly and fastly , provide as many as working notes as possible how you solved the sum , make sure to write answer in short paragraph with spacing . Must carry a watch , don't panic i mean it really don't panic .
I'm giving cma inter dec attempt i did DT all the head but gst i did only the intro and value of supply please help me if anyways I can pass or get near to 50
From your post, it doesn’t feel like CMA is your priority. If you’re genuinely serious, put in the effort. Otherwise, don’t waste your time, money, or your family’s faith in you. It’s just 3/4 years of hard work.
I’d recommend going for a single group. I think you can crack it without much trouble.
Don't write off these months — Law and Cost being strong is banked progress, and a cleared group stays cleared. So focus on Group 1 alone for December: finish Tax and FA, keep Law/Cost revised — ~4.5 months is enough for that, but not for four untouched Group 2 papers on top.
One clean group beats two shaky ones, and CMA banks each group separately, so you lose nothing by focusing.
