Which is the best browser to use in 2026? I want to switch from chorme, any suggestions? I am trying zen for now

I personally use the Vivaldi browser. It has it all I would want: vertical tabs, window stacking, window tiling and a plethora of configuration options. It is currently my default browser and I don’t think I’ll be changing that any time soon.

What are your thoughts?

If you have an iPhone or iPad it has always been Safari.

After testing over 20 different web browsers, I've come to the conclusion there aren't any good web browsers, let alone one that is the "best." Each one has some kind of major disadvantage (e.g. Brave + Helium have no sync, Firefox has an uncertain future, Vivaldi eats up resources, etc.). Basically what one browser lacks, another has that feature, and vice versa. What do you guys think?

People sometimes look too far afield when Firefox is simple, fast, and efficient.

Brave, no ads, and youtube videos with no ads is a win for me

I am using Google Chrome and it's ridiculously heavy in term of RAM usage etc... What is the best browser for speed/efficiency, but also for privacy ?

Brave ? Vivaldi ? Firefox ? Opera ? ...

I use zen browser. It's a firefox "clone" I guess. it's based on Firefox, I stand corrected. It's pretty good. It's fun to use. Takes up less ram than firefox. It can't play drm content but it doesn't really matter for me since I use stremio.

for me - Firefox, since it supports actually good extensions, more minimal and overall easier to configure

Microsoft Edge. Vertical tabs on left and sidepanel on right is absolutely gamechanger.

doesn’t break websites every 5 minutes

Right now I’m confused between Brave, Firefox + uBlock, Vivaldi, Edge, etc.

I’m looking for a web browser that’s fast and supports extensions. I was thinking about using Firefox, but I’ve heard it isn’t as secure on Android? Perhaps there are better options

Edit: I am know about Edge, I am using it but it will discontinuing ublock support and don't know about other extensions

I use Brave and Safari, mostly Brave its fast and very privacy friendly.

Firefox because it's the only major browser that is not controlled by an evil megacorporation.

There isn’t a single browser that magically does speed + privacy + ad‑blocking + low RAM. You always trade one bucket for another.

• Brave gives you built‑in tracking protection and a decent ad blocker with almost no setup. It’s basically Chromium with extra privacy plumbing, so you get good performance and extension support, but it still eats RAM like any Blink browser. • Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection and uBlock Origin can be just as private while giving you more control over telemetry. It’s a bit slower to start on old hardware, but once you strip out unused extensions I find it uses less memory and doesn’t phone home to multiple services. • Vivaldi/Edge have some nice features, but privacy isn’t their mission and you’ll spend time tweaking or relying on extensions to get to the same blocking level. Edge also feeds into the Microsoft ecosystem.

For me (teaching online on an older laptop), Firefox + uBlock hits the sweet spot: fast enough, blocks ads and tracking, doesn’t surprise me with crypto side projects, and lets me separate work and personal profiles. Whatever you choose, the bigger wins come from keeping the browser and extensions up to date, using a good content blocker, and not keeping 40 tabs open all day.

im using cromite (very lightweight and secure) on my phone and zen on my pc (linux) though I am excited to try orion when it comes out for linux

The best out of the box experience is probably brave origin.
It's reasonably fast, works well with most sites since it's chromium and the privacy defaults are good.

I prefer firefox however but it requires some configuration to get it to the same level, like installing an adblocker, setting up third party cookie blocking etc.
