The real alchemy was the friends we mede along the way
I love Truth, he was so excited for Edward at the end
Another great anime that never got a continuation, but at least this ending was perfect. Definitely the best magic battle school anime.
Chivalry of a Failed Knight
You've defeated me! Take everything you want!
I usually don't like speaking in absolutes, but FMAB might actually have the best ending in anime. A lot of series fail to stick the landing, but in this one, the ending really was the point of the whole journey.
I genuinely can't think of an ending I enjoy more than fmab (I haven't finished Code Geass so don't worry CG fans)
This ending is not only well written but it's satisfying and completely embodies the themes and parallels of the characters and story.
Edward Elric concludes that he has always been just a simple human, life is only great because of his loved ones and not the divine abilities granted to him, just like Icarus he flew too close to the sun (paralleling father), but unlike father, Edward flies down before he goes any further into the sun knowing everything he needed he already had, and that is the truth and that's why he won not only his body, the battle, but the philosophical struggle with his own being.
(Dragon Ball Z won the category for Best Transformations)
Locked 🔒:
Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood), Berserk, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Attack On Titan, Hunter X Hunter, Bleach, Dragon Ball Z
The real Fullmetal Alchemist was the Brotherhood we made along the way :D
The only anime ending I can think of that even rivals FMA's for me is *please look at flair☝️*
So yeah, valid, the undisputed GOAT of shonen.
There are anime who have better single arcs, characters, battles, scenes... but Brotherhood is the only one (except maybe Mob Psycho 100) that, so far, is great in all areas AND stick its landing. I have big hopes for Vinland Saga too now the manga is finished, since its first two seasons are also very high quality. But Brotherhood was released non-stop and it doesn't dip in quality at any point. I don't watch it as much as I should, but definitely the most well rounded anime imo.
Mod psycho 100 is probably the best example of a perfect ending to me
Even if I lose Alchemy I'll still have my.. Edchemy.
I'll see myself out
There are several reasons why FMAB was number 1 on MAL for like 20 years.
One of the reasons is it has the best, most perfect ending ever.
Mob Psycho 100. That final shot with Mob is so perfect to me. Heck that entire final arc is a straight up 10/10
FMAB has one of the very best. I would say the best if not for Steins Gate;
Nothing has left such an impression on me as the ending of Steins Gate, especially after watching the prequel/alternate timeline second season.
Cowboy Bebop.
Seeing my Childhood Hero becoming Pokemon master 💫
One of the most complete well paced stories ever. Goes to show a well thought out, proper story that sets out with an ending. No bullshit, can be absolutely amazing.
Every character had a purpose, villains had backstory and just enough to empathize but also hate even more. You don't need 20 chapters of a sob story. Compelling protagonist and side characters who made the difference.
Very few things reach this level of perfection
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
I think this one wraps up nicely
